How to differentiate between different types of leather?

Boots made with greased leather: Distinguishing if our boots have been made with this kind of leather is quite easy. When touching them, we will feel a greasy texture, very similar to the touch of a wax candle. This is because these leathers are greased during tanning. They are leathers with great resistance to grease stains, oil, and water and are commonly used in cowboy and biker boots as well as Valverde del Camino country boots.

Boots made with untreated cowhide leather: This is the simplest way to tan leather and they are the typical leathers that do not have that waxy texture and lack that almost metallic shine.

Boots made with exotic leather: Exotic leathers are usually very distinctive. Also, in the descriptions on our website, you will always find the reference to the type of leather of each pair of boots, for example, snake, alligator, stingray, iguana, cobra… Although they may seem like leathers that require a lot of care, they actually do not. Perhaps due to the type of scale, snake leather may be somewhat more delicate but in return, it is the most comfortable and soft for the boots.

Boots made in suede, nubuck, or suede leather: The texture of these leathers tends to be velvety. They are usually somewhat more delicate leathers, especially regarding water.

Boots made with shiny or florentic leather: It is a type of leather very easy to distinguish because it usually has a lot of shine and is very thick. It is commonly used in the most flashy Texan boots.
